Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Project Team Manager is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, control and mentoring to a project management team charged with all aspects of Project Delivery within the Portfolio including tenant improvements, base building works and one off projects.
The project management team has a total of approximately 25 employees, and scope of project volume will be in the range of $35-40M for the province of Ontario.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development, mentoring, motivating and team building for a group of professionals for 6 direct reports and 19 indirect reports and support staff assembled for the purpose of project delivery.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for adequate and accurate monthly forecasting and billing completeness using the SNC Lavalin O&M in-house project management tools.
Responsible for monitoring and controlling monthly project status review meetings with all team members to ensure proper milestone dates, accurate financial updates and up to date project related comments are being captured.
Responsible for monitoring and controlling completeness and adequacy of data upload to SNC Lavalin O&M in house project management tools.
Responsible for reporting to Director on a monthly or as need basis the overall portfolio forecast, billing and Key Performance Indicator (where applicable).
Responsible for monitoring and controlling quality management system by attending internal and external audits, preparing root cause analysis and completing corrective action plans.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to the established project management delivery Methodology and procurement policies.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicator thresholds as part of contractual obligations with some Clients.
Assist Director in building Relationship Management and achieving multiple Client/Customer Satisfaction.
Ensure compliance to contract requirements & applicable codes & regulations.
Develop business relationships with a view to enhancing SNC Lavalin O&M growth and profits.
Assist Director in responding to project management request for proposals or services by completing work breakdown structures or work plans, Microsoft project schedules, approaches and methodologies.
Provide Senior Project Management expertise and senior level advice on project related issues, management policies, standards, procedures and processes.
Demonstrate superior performance in resolving highly critical issues within matrix organization while maintaining rigorous adherence to project timelines and costs.
Partner with Program Manager in optimizing utilization of annual budget allocation by recommending and advising on prioritization of projects.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (French/English) would be preferred.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the engineering, construction or project management industry.
PMP certification and LEED designation.
Demonstrates success in managing a team of employees.
Broad facility infrastructure technical experience (environmental, mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural).
Proven record of setting up complete Project Management functions including work breakdown structure, schedules, estimates, resources, cost budgets, deliverables, and cost control.
Proven ability to successfully manage a high volume program of projects with a total annual value of 15 million dollars or greater.
Proven team leadership abilities in monitoring and reporting on progress, variances, budgets, critical path, earned value and proactive issue identification and resolution.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and planning skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
