Job Opening: Wireless Terminal RF Field Tester
Location: Calgary, AB, CANADA
Our client is looking for a Wireless Terminal RF Field Tester in Calgary.
KEY PURPOSE:
Project support UMTS Network Node B Capacity Adds Commissioning & Testing Huawei HSPA+
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical
. Perform Wireless Network commissioning, repair and testing on WCDMA RAN including Huawei node B, Ethernet backhaul, RF antenna systems, call testing, documenting & reporting.
Communications
. Identify issues, respond to queries, discuss trouble details and provide explanation/assistance relating to network project activity directly with external / internal customers in a professional manner.
. Work with Operations Team & other groups to explain / discuss details regarding progress and issues.
. Information sharing with stakeholders.
Administration
. Report and update findings.
. Completing as built documentation.
. Documentation of technical issues.
RESULTS OR OUTCOMES:
. Project Activity is completed within defined time requirements to meet company quality standards, to ensure network reliability and to meet customer needs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
. Working knowledge of Digital Wireless Communications, and Radio Frequency Networks and Data/IP Networks.
. Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
. Knowledge of UMTS, Wireless Communications protocols and Networks.
. Knowledge of test equipment/software associated with UMTS Network maintenance, commissioning.
. Working Knowledge of Huawei DBS3900, wireless products.
. Working Knowledge of Digital & Native IP Microwave products.
. Experience in testing/analysis of Wireless network elements.
. Must be able to carry heavy equipment.
. Must be willing and able to work aloft.
. Must be willing and able to travel long distances in severe weather conditions to remove locations.
. Demonstrated effective decision making skills under limited supervision.
. Knowledge of UMTS network technology, architecture and elements and a strong understanding of their associated inner-workings.
. Knowledge of installation and repair practices, policies and procedure.
. Must be able to operate hand and power tools and test equipment.
. Must be able to understand and effectively perform work in accordance with published work plans.
. Normal colour vision to work with colour-coded wiring.
. Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (such as evenings, weekends and statutory holidays), based on business needs.
. Must follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
. Must possess fluent Computer navigational skills.
. Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills.
. Fluent in English.
. Self-motivated, work well with minimal or no direct supervision.
. Ability to effectively handle both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions.
. Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or escalate as required.
. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments.
. Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast-paced changing environment.
. Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines.
. Must meet applicable testing requirements.
