Job Opening: Project Manager, Youth and Strategic Initiatives

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, Manage and Operate the Career Exploration Centre (“CEC”)
· Develop detailed designs and plans for the infrastructure, equipment and technology required for the CEC and work with Facilities Management, Information Systems, Corporate Communications and other stakeholders as required to acquire and implement that infrastructure, equipment and technology
· In conjunction with SAIT schools, faculty, and other stakeholders, develop, acquire, manage and maintain interactive displays used to showcase careers in the industries served by SAIT’s schools
· In conjunction with Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications, develop and implement a marketing plan, website, online communications tools, and virtual platform for the CEC
· In conjunction with Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications, develop and maintain content for the CEC’s video walls, free-standing computer kiosks, etc.
· Align CEC activities with junior high school curriculum and liaise with the Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School Board, Rocky View School Division, Foothills School Division, private and francophone schools in Calgary, and other schools in surrounding areas
· Develop and implement a one-day project-based program for visiting junior high school students, in conjunction with schools, faculty and other stakeholders as required, with the potential for expanding this to secondary school students
· Actively market the CEC to and liaise with junior and senior high school teachers, guidance counselors and career practitioners, as well as parents, the community, etc.
· Work with Alumni and Development in exploring and developing sponsorship opportunities for the Centre/individual components of the Centre
· Chair the Career Exploration Centre Steering Committee
· Manage all aspects of the CEC on a day-to-day basis, including hiring and managing CEC staff
· Develop and manage the CEC’s annual budget
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have the following in his/her resume:
· Bachelor’s degree from recognized educational institute or acceptable equivalent directly related to education/training
· Project management knowledge/skills
· Proven ability to effectively lead/manage a variety of projects, with a minimum of two years’ experience managing projects and events
· Minimum of two years’ experience teaching/working directly with junior high school students
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Excellent presentation skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Proven ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, and to understand and manage their differing priorities
· Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable
