Assistant Accountant needed in London, W1 - - up to £27,000

A new job has recently come onto the market for a skilled assistant accountant, working in a busy finance team in London, W1. Our client, a prestigious company in the hospitality sector, is looking for an assistant accountant to take full control of reconciling the company accounts and assisting the management accountant in monthly reporting.

The job's responsibilities are two-fold. 1) Reconciling the sales of the company and producing reports to highlight variances; resolving any differences with operational staff and bank reconciliations, and 2) assisting the management accountant in duties such as payroll, balance sheets, PAYE reconciliations and monthly analysis and reporting.

The right candidate will not only be a strong communicator, but also be commercially minded, with the ability to learn new skills and assist the management accountant in new procedures as the role matures. The company is going through a period of growth currently, and the right candidate will be able to accommodate the change and increase efficiency within the accounts department. Given these requirements, the right candidate will be confident, articulate and demonstrate previous experience in improving a companies accounts payable function. Moreover, the candidate must have a strong academic background and hands on experience using Sage Line 50.
