Job Opening: Project Manager- Mineral Processing
Location: Toronto, ON, CANADA
Our client is a recognized leader in the field of mine design, mine engineering, mineral process design, project management and mine construction.
They specialize in Process Plant Design, Metallurgical Process Engineering, Mining Project Management, Metallurgical Consulting - Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies, Dense Media Separation, PGM Concentrators, Tailings Retreatment Plants, Diamond Processing Plants and Process Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
They current have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to work with their team of technical professionals in the Toronto area. Reporting to a Project Manager this opportunity is for a Professional Engineer with a minimum of 5 years 'experience working with mineral processing plants complemented with the following skills and experience.
Job Responsibilities:
· Reports to Project Manager
· Manage projects for Mineral Processing Plants from initial design to the final commissioning
· Develop mechanical engineering design criteria's for projects.
· Perform mechanical engineering calculations for sizing of mechanical equipment.
· Prepare specifications, tenders, commercial and technical tender evaluations and contract documents for mechanical equipment procurement and structural, mechanical, platework and piping (SMPP) contracts.
· Administrate mechanical procurement (SMPP) contracts.
· Interact with the drawing office and other engineering disciplines to generate integrated plant designs.
· Ensure that all engineering disciplines designs are integrated into one cohesive design.
· Ensure that all engineering changes are routed through the engineering change management system and are executed by all affected disciplines.
· Monitor the project schedule and drive progress of other engineering disciplines, fabrication and construction.
· Supervise technicians, engineers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality.
· Perform on site quality inspections and quality control functions.
· Perform on site engineering problem solving.
· Perform on site mechanical engineering commissioning function.
· Liaise with client and project team to ensure clear communication of project status and ensure client's requirements are met.
· Assist and work with the planner in generating and maintaining the project plan.
· Execute feasibility studies
· Provide technical assistance for business development opportunities
· Some travel will be required

Job Qualifications:
5-10 years of project engineering experience
University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Must have at least 5 years' experience working with mineral processing plants
