Job Opening: QA Analyst

Job Description:
INTEQNA is working with a client who is looking for a QA analyst who will be accountable for learning the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) methodology, working with business analysts, developers and project managers to ensure quality products are delivered to the business. You must have a desire/willingness to explore, troubleshoot and learn new skills/concepts/tools and be a self-starter. A strong desire to have fun would be an asset.
Job Responsibilities:
. Develop and implement test plans, test cases and test scripts (both manual and automated) to ensure software products meet the organization's standards and end user requirements
. Perform sustainable levels of exploratory and integration testing including error propagation, logging, deployment, and usability testing
. Report progress of testing and metrics on software quality to leadership teams, project managers, and other elements of IT as required
. Lead the QA effort on projects as required by managing planned iterations, resource allocations within assigned teams, and coordinating with various testing streams on test validation
. Assist with the development of QA Processes for new technology in the IT Environment
. Be accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance of QA Processes
. Ensure evolving industry best practices are incorporated into test planning and implementation
. Ensure the appropriate use of test automation and testing tools
Job Required Skills and Qualifications:
. Minimum 3 years experience in a software development environment including:
. 2+ years experience in software quality assurance
. 1+ year exposure to test automation
. Proven ability to apply core concepts to testing problems within areas they may or may not have had exposure or experience with
. Hands-on, in depth knowledge of software quality assurance/testing methodologies, practices and related standards (IEEE, CMMI, Exploratory Testing, etc.)
. Proven detail-oriented personality along with analytical and problem solving abilities
. Demonstrated cross-discipline ability (ability to perform BA, Developer, UX, etc., activities at a basic level)
. Experience with at least one software scripting language such as Python, VBScript, Perl, Ruby etc.
. Experience automating testing of front-end GUIs as well as SOA web service calls and/or leveraging existing automation to perform regression or data-driven testing
. Politically savy. Must know when to "stand up" for quality at the expense of schedule, but in a way that doesn't alienate. Must know when to compromise for the overall good at the expense of quality.
. Familiarity with open source test tools and utilities
. Experience with Oracle and MSSQL Server database environments including SQL query/script generation
. Familiarity working within various Operating Systems including Windows Server and Unix (including batch/shell scripting, basic Unix commands, IIS and Windows service administration)
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
. Experience with Agile an asset
. Programming experience with one or more of the following languages: C#, Java
. Demonstrated ability to specify and develop custom automated and non-automated test harnesses
. Experience with Web Service Testing (REST and SOAP) an asset
. Experience with load and performance test tools and methodologies an asset
. Knowledge of web application security and penetration test tools/techniques an asset
. Project Management experience an asset
. Usability research and testing experience an asset
. Knowledge of the telecommunications industry including cable, internet, telephony and wireless is an asset with experience in several of the following highly regarded:
. Billing/rating
. Provisioning
. OE/OM
. Mediation
. Portals
. Risk Management/assurance
