Job Opening: COMPLIANCE TAX MANAGER

Our client is looking for a Compliance Tax Manager.  The successful candidate will have a recognized Canadian accounting designation ( CA , CGA or CMA ) with the CICA In-Depth Tax Courses (Levels 1 and 2) and a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in a public accounting firm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Liaise with other members of the tax and assurance team on various tax advisory projects.
-Coordinate and monitor the tax department's compliance with internal control procedures.
-Advise clients on compliance issues.
-Advise clients on tax minimizing strategies.
-Conduct tax research.
-Develop and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business opportunities.
-Coach, manage and mentor Junior Tax Staff for Professional Development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-CA , CGA or CMA designation.
-Extensive understanding of relevant tax legislation, corporate tax compliance & planning.
-Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course (Levels I and II).
-Effective communication skills.
-Expertise in Tax and Estate planning.
-Expertise in complex Canadian corporate tax compliance, tax provisions and tax financial statement note disclosures.
-Understanding of provincial and federal filing and compliance requirements.
-Experience teaching and supervising junior staff.
-Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong client relationships. 

JOB COMPENSATION:

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
