Job Opening: IS Inventory Coordinator
Location: Calgary, AB, CANADA
General Information
The following position is available in the IS Workstation Services North department, reporting to the manager of that team. This team is responsible for the day to day operations and support of TransCanada's end user computing devices and associated software.
We anticipate filling this position locally, and therefore this position is not eligible for domestic or cross-border relocation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory/Hardware Asset Management:
- Manage desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, AV equipment, and printers;
- Initiate requisitions for procuring hardware;
- Liaise with vendors regarding requisitions, warranty issues and services;
- Take delivery of hardware and maintain hardware inventory system;
- Maintain inventory levels at head office and core field locations;
- Ship hardware to field locations;
- Image computers;
- Manage donation/disposal process;
- Provide information to business partners on services and processes;
- Manage loaner laptops, projectors and mobile devices;
- Supervise activities of junior inventory technician in the execution of these activities;
- Continuous improvement of asset management processes;
- Participate in related projects for enterprise wide implementation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Strong business analysis skills;
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team environment;
- Strong planning and organizing skills with proven ability to effectively prioritize work;
- Working knowledge of the broad range of end user computing technology;
- Inventory/asset management experience would be considered an asset;
- Direct experience with Windows XP/Windows 7, and Microsoft productivity tools is required;
- Experience with Blackberry - BES, Remedy and SCCM would be an considered an asset;
- Knowledge of IT Service Management or ITIL principles would be considered an asset;
- A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science/related discipline or equivalent working experience;
- Minimum of 3 years direct hands on experience (individuals with less direct experience may be considered for a lower level role).
Successful completion of the following will be required:
- Security Clearance/Criminal Record Check.
Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate(s) may be offered a position at a more appropriate level.
