The Company

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a large plc business based in Warwickshire.
The business is commutable on a daily basis from Leicester, Rugby and Coventry. They have a turnover in excess of 150 million pounds.

The Role

Assistant Accountant
Working at the firms UK head office function and reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant is based primarily within the management accounting team.
You will be tasked with fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, month end journals, financial analysis / kpi reporting and taking a key role in assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Daily responsibilities
Balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of month end accruals, prepayments and analysis
Investigation of variances
Bank reconciliations
Working with overseas subsidiaries including queries
Bank reconciliations
Internal controls
Reporting directly to the FC
Working on Fiscal returns
VAT returns and Corporation Tax
All levels will be considered as long as you have at least three years experience as an Assistant Accountant, the perfect candidate will be an active studier in either CIMA or ACCA or AAT qualified, be hands on and also looking to work in role in that you will gain a broad range of accounting skills.
You will be able to work as part of team and also independently, be looking for a business that can offer future career opportunities.
You will be able to use Excel to good level.Please only apply for this role if you have a minimum of two years experience of working in a UK based finance function and be of part qualified calibre.This will be a temporary position for a minimum of nine months.
