Job Opening: Director, Investor Relations (Mining)

Position Overview
Our client, a Canadian publically-traded advanced-stage mining exploration company, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director, Investor Relations to join their senior management team.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Investor Relations will take on front-line responsibilities for engaging and building relationships with the market, shareholders and certain regulatory authorities on behalf of the organization. The Director will also utilize their industry knowledge to undertake communications and marketing initiatives with shareholders and the financial community regarding corporate information, development updates, press release disclosures, and other promotional materials for company use.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Investor Relations professional with expertise honed in the mining industry to develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy for an organization close to production.
Job Responsibilities:
.Develop and execute the company's investor relations strategy and maintain the investor relations program to both elevate relations and communications between the company and its shareholders, the investing public and other members of the financial community
·Manage investor targeting and foster relationships with both institutional investors and retail investors and brokers to forward the goals and reach of business building initiatives
·Oversee the monitoring and analysis of changes in institutional and other major shareholder ownership and regularly reports to senior management, and the Board of Directors if requested
·Consult with senior management and coordinate investor relations events
·Represent the company in its relationships with the investment community through trade shows, road shows, media outreach, and analyst site tours
·Prepare or oversee the preparation and distribution of investor materials including press releases, marketing material, brochures, advertising and promotional literature, quarterly and annual reports, and other materials;
·Work with the Corporate Secretary to ensure that current regulatory and/or stock exchange reporting/disclosure requirements are fulfilled, including contact with Market Surveillance and distribution of press releases over wire services;
·Receive and respond to enquiries from shareholders, investors, analysts and media, as appropriate
·Ensure consistent corporate messaging and branding of communications to the investment community
·Maintain professional and technical knowledge; review professional publications; establish personal networks; benchmark state-of-the-art practices; participate in professional societies
·Develop and maintain investor presentations, corporate fact sheets and website content to ensure all information is up to date and accurate;
·Arrange facilities and coordinate presentations for the Company's annual meetings of shareholders
Job Qualifications:
·Minimum 5 years Investor Relations experience in a publicly-listed mining company
·Post-secondary education in marketing, business administration or geology, or other relevant field, or suitable combination of education and experience
·A broad understanding of the technical aspects of the mining sector, particularly the process of exploration projects transitioning into working mines (geological knowledge base)
·Experience in cultivating retail investor and brokerage relationships
·Superior written communication and oral presentation skills
·High proficiency with PowerPoint or other presentation software
·Creative, outgoing and intuitive personality with the ability to multi-task and work independently
