Job Opening: Lead Distributed Systems Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON, CANADA 

Job Responsibilities:

Acts as a lead hand in overseeing the designing and planning of distributed PeopleSoft systems which are robust and secure and which provide optimal academic value.  Works closely with faculty and staff to design, test, implement and support distributed PeopleSoft systems across Ryerson.  Provides an IT infrastructure for students and faculty who require integrated systems to support their curricular activities, enhance both learning and teaching and facilitate scholarly research and creative activities.

Job Qualifications:

    Successful completion of a post secondary degree (4 year) in Information Systems, Business, Engineering with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience that includes being a lead technical role that supports PeopleSoft System administration, PeopleSoft and PeopleTools in an Oracle database environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    Definite experience in planning and leading the design, testing, installation, technical configuration and administration of distributed PeopleSoft systems with clients, including determining requirements, costing, developing systems plans for client and server applications and networked hardware and software.
    Demonstrated experience in testing, documentation and troubleshooting of PeopleSoft systems, including writing client and/or server software, building system images, loading software, setting up configurations and performing development work and patch work as required.
    A demonstrated commitment to client service - specifically to students, staff, faculty and external contacts.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare complex documentation and assist in the transfer of technology, including consulting, training and tutoring students, faculty and staff. 
    Excellent interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy. 
    Strong organizational skills are critical.
    Good analytical skills are required to evaluate materials, make decisions and problem solve.
    Ability to work with minimal supervision; experience working as a lead hand.
