Job Opening: Senior Business Support Analyst

Position Summary


The Senior Business Support Analyst, Investment Operations & Support, is responsible for taking the lead on department's initiatives and project management; support department's daily responsibilities; oversee all system upgrades to ensure smooth roll out with minimum disruptions to current processes; ensure data integrity and day to day activities related to the effective running of the Investments Department systems infrastructure (included CRD, Bloomberg, Portia, Market Data Services etc.)

Job  Responsibilities:

Assist with department's daily fund oversight responsibilities e.g cash forecast to avoid fund over draft; daily fund rebalancing review; fx trade requirements
Respond to queries from the Investment team as well as external parties; resolve issues as required
Manage the department's reporting requirement; create ad-hoc reports as requested by the Investment Team
Assist with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures to support business processes that are consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operation of the department
Proactively enhance the firm's risk management by consistently monitoring and implementing improvements to daily controls; resolving discrepancies between trading systems; ensuring compliance with company and industry policies and regulations
Resolve issues with the day-to-day use of the Investments and Operations systems, mainly CRD, Portia and Bloomberg. Assist with users training of the Investment systems
Responsible for departmental projects ensuring the development of detailed project plan as required to assist with project execution and oversight.
Coordinate investment system implementations, upgrades and 'fixes' (activities may have cross-departmental and cross business-unit implications and dependencies
Maintain supporting documentation for system implementations, processes and procedures
Oversee the implementation, planning and testing all upgrades and changes for various Investment and Operations systems. Review processes to ensure that Invesco Canada is not lagging behind other NA offices
Provide technical assistance and administrative support for all market data systems ' including version upgrades, contract changes, users and licenses as well as be the third party contact for user support

Strong analytical abilities; problem solving and communications skills.

Job Requirements:


Undergraduate degree, preferably in Information Technology or related discipline
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in financial services back office environment; investment/mutual fund experience strongly preferred
Investment systems related work experience

Technical Abilities and/or other Specialized Skills
Knowledge of mutual fund business and interactions with various internal and external constituencies.
Knowledge of investment business, buy-side processes and investment products.
Aptitude for rapid adaptation to new systems/software
Experience in the following software and systems: Charles River IMS v.8, Portia, Bloomberg including POMS, Reuters Trader, Facset Directions/Marquee, Liquidnet and Capital IQ
Working knowledge of Microsoft XP, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Access, Excel)
Knowledge of Business Objects XI (or higher) Report Writing

Job Environment/Opportunities:

Project Coordination and Management: Should be able to assume the role of project coordinator or lead as required for investment-related systems implementations and upgrades
Should be able to work comfortably with both IT and business resources in the evaluation and implementation of projects.
Must be able to work and communicate well with global Invesco teams

Job Conditions:


Overtime may be required when business demands need to be met
May need to be present in the office on statutory holidays or on call
International travel may be required to Invesco offices
