Job Opening: Net Developer
Location: Toronto, ON, CANADA

This client is a leader in the Insurance industry, located in the heart of Downtown Toronto! They're in urgent need of a seasoned .Net Developer to join their team on a long-term (12 month+) contract.

Skills needed for the developer are
. .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio 2010, VB6, HTML, XML, Crystal 8.5/11.
. Knowledge of DBNET Suite, Istream suite, Calligo.
. Insurance experience is an asset.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Evaluates defined client area requirements and processes, moderate to complex, and develops and prepares application program solutions.
2. Researches and evaluates new and/or alternative solutions, and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems/program design, as well as develops system specifications and procedures under the direction of a senior technical lead.
3. Implements approved application solutions including verifying program logic, debugging program, and preparing test data for trial runs. The candidate will participate in overall systems testing with other IT staff.
4. Documents the solution and prepares/ conducts code reviews to the Technical Lead.
5. In conjunction with operations area technical staff, supports the implementation of the aJob Opening:
Location:pplication into production (May confer with technical personnel).


Job Qualifications:

1. A broad knowledge of the system development life cycle and system. Application program development alternatives are required.
2. Strong knowledge of client area's functions and systems.
3. Solid knowledge of the state of the art application development support software packages, proficiency in at least one higher level programming language, databases and interfaces. Specific software skills required are: .NET, VB.NET, C#, VBScript, JavaScript, VB6, HTML, XML, DHTML, SQL Server 2000, Crystal Report 8.5/XI, SharePoint, ActiveX Controls.
4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Understanding of interface design and user centered work methods.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, clients, IT management and staff. Display the ability to work in team environment.
7. Developing client and project management skills.
8. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business related software systems.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum four years of application program development experience.
3. Applicable certificates preferred.
