Job Opening:Structural Engineer
Location: Calgary, AB, Canada
Job Responsibilities:
Review Client's technical documentation and requirements if any.
Review, revise and implement IMV's in-house specifications and design criteria as required.
Attend weekly meetings (internal and with client).
Prepare weekly progress reports.
Input to Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Design Basis Memorandum (DBM).
Prepare manhour estimates and manpower forecasts for front-end through to detailed design phases.
Exercise cost control, reviewing and monitoring designs for conformance with control estimates and project specifications.
Prepare engineering optimizations studies.
Prepare Material Take Off's (MTO's).
Review and comment to schedules produced by Project Controls ensuring all deliverables committed to can be prepared in a timely fashion.
Gather technical information required for design from other disciplines.
Review and iterative markup of Vendor drawings of equipment applicable to Structural.
Prepare calculations (of Limit State and Serviceability analysis) for the structural engineering of steel and concrete structures, steel buildings, piling and foundation design.
Ongoing review of the 3D Model.
Provide sketches to designers.
Review and iterative markups of 2D drawings to be used for bid (IFB) phase and for construction (IFC) phases.
Preparation of Material Requisitions (MR's).
Preparation of Contract Requisitions (CR's).
Preparation and or input to Engineering Work Packages and/or Construction Work Packages.
Review shop drawings for structural adequacy and ensure shop drawings are done according to structural drawings issued for construction.
Prepare bid spreads; bid evaluation, clarification, and award iterations for issued MR's and CR's
Review the work of others.
Provide technical support and assistance during the construction phase.
Job Requirements:
Experience in Oil & Gas facility projects including some of the following areas: SAGD heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities.
Familiarity with codes (ABC, NBC, CAN/CSA-S16-01, CSA A23.3-04)
Use of Structural Software for analysis.
Use of Dynamic Analysis software for analysis and design of foundations for rotating and reciprocating machinery.
