Job Requirements:

· Previous shipping & receiving experience
· Experience driving a forklift, loading and unloading of large components required
· Packaging sensitive components and building custom wood crates
· Arranging for local couriers and long distance carriers
· Computer skills required for data entry and receiving
· Knowledge of ISO quality systems and Transport of Dangerous Goods certification would be an asset

Job Responsibilities:

· Verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments
· Preparing items for shipment
· Compare identifying information, counts, weights and measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
· Determine methods of shipments utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
· Affix shipping labels on packed cartons
· Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or preassembled containers
· Insert items into containers using spacers, fillers and protective padding
· Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape using strapping machine
· Stamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions to crates or containers
· Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
· Unpacks and examines incoming shipments
· Rejects damaged items
· Records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
· Routes items to departments
· Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
· Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
· May operate tier-lift jack or use hand jack to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
· May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
· May perform on shipping or receiving activities only based on experience

The successful individual will be expected to take ownership of his / her position. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
