Job Description
.Responsible for all aspects of the estimate.
.Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
.Prepares detailed estimated by calculating complete take-off of scope of work.
.Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current and accurate information on prices from suppliers.
.May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality or availability of materials.
.Advises Chief Estimator as to cost and schedule fluctuations, improved material, or other factors affecting construction.
.Explores Value Engineering for all applicable projects or situations.
.Reviews market labour and equipment rates and advise accordingly.
.Prepares final estimate summaries, analyzing each section for scope, pricing and completeness.
.Participates in estimate reviews.
.Completes post-bid analyses on jobs bid. Tracks bidding success and percentages, and analyses fiscal period bid performance. Evaluates fee analysis and adjusts by market conditions, past experience.
