Job Vacancy: Project Delivery/Contracts Engineer
Location: Winnipeg, MB, Canada

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Delivery/Contracts Engineer for a term position of 36 months. You will provide expert advice and leadership to project teams in the development and selection of project delivery and contract models for New Generation Construction Division Projects.

Job Responsibilities:

Act as a specialist within the division on the use of different contract forms and project delivery models.
For the Conawapa and Keeyask projects, take a lead role in the complex and strategic process to select a project delivery model and work closely with risk and schedule leads in selection process.
Research and stay abreast of current, innovative methods and emerging trends to deliver projects and contracts. This includes market capacity studies, current trends in the construction industry specific to our business, and trends in the business climate in Canada and abroad.
Analyze project delivery and contract models in use, how to ensure their effectiveness, and options to carry out project work.
Take a lead role in the selection of contract forms and the drafting of procurement documents with project teams, Purchasing, and Law Departments.
Develop and maintain divisional processes specific to project delivery and contracts.
Assist the project team in the analysis and awarding of contracts.
Review and evaluate lessons from current or recent experiences; and incorporate these lessons into future project models and contracts.
Build and share divisional knowledge related to contracts and delivery systems.
Participate in claims management process.

Job Qualifications:

You will have a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree from a university of recognized standing, current membership in APEGM, with a minimum of seven years of related experience, including some supervisory or administrative experience. Additional qualifications include:

Extensive project experience in the design and construction of complex projects.
Sound knowledge of the consulting and construction marketplace.
Strong facilitation skills and ability to analyze complex problems to produce results.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with a wide variety of contracts and project delivery systems.
Sound knowledge of contract law and experience working in risk management would be an asset.
Construction experience as an owner, contractor, and/or consultant would be an asset.
An MBA or Project Management or Cost Engineering designation would be an asset.
Experience in handling contract disputes and claims would be an asset.
Ability to build consensus and facilitate teams.
Possess and maintain a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
