Job Opening: Project Buyer
Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

We have an opening for a Project Buyer for a Calgary based Oil & Gas manufacturer.

Job Responsibilities:

. Purchasing material for Projects
. Reviewing material allocations and schedules, and generating Purchase orders and submitting over to vendors
. Monitoring to make sure fax and/or EDI's went through and confirm expected ship dates and updating system
. Filing Purchase Orders
. Daily verifying all purchase orders without confirmation or acknowledgment from the vendors
. Updating purchase orders with vendor confirmation dates and reference numbers
. Daily verifying delivery status for all purchase orders scheduled to ship on that day from the vendors and follow-up on late orders
. Contacting suppliers to solve receiving inconsistencies (P/N, qty, cost etc)
. Investigating and determining what/how/why material came in incorrectly or damaged (for non conformances)
. Expediting all purchase orders for Projects when requested by Project group
. Back-up for customs documentation


A minimum of 3 years relevant experience required for this role, including purchasing experience in a distribution or Oil & Gas manufacturing environment.

APICS, CPP, or PMAC purchasing certification would be an asset for this role.
