A leading private construction company, having experienced strong growth are seeking their next Controller to join them and lead a small team of accounting staff during a period of innovation and process improvement.

This is an existing role, however it is a real opportunity for you to own it as the owners are looking for improvements to be made in the finance area. On a day to day basis, you will work closely with the President & other key management to provide the information which will facilitate strategic decision making, day to day management of the business, and coordinate the budgeting and forecasting processes. Your primary tasks will include financial reporting, annual & monthly budgeting & forecasting, financial analysis, establishment of internal controls, and other ad-hoc administrative tasks.

As the successful candidate, you will have experience in producing accurate and timely financial information in a construction environment and will be comfortable in working in a hands on role supporting a small team. Previous management experience is essential as two staff will report to the role. Strong communication skills are a requirement, as is a designation (CA, CMA or CGA). Knowledge of either construction specific accounting systems such as Timberline would be an advantage.
