Job Opening: Registered Nurse
Location: Belleville, ON, CANADA; Picton, ON, CANADA

Established in 1975, OMNI Health Care is amongst the larger operators of Long Term Care Homes in Ontario, with 17 long-term care homes across Ontario providing care to more than 1,400 residents and employing 1,700 staff members. OMNI is based in Peterborough, Ontario, and operates long term care homes in Eastern and Southwestern Ontario.

1. Under the direction of the Director of Care, ensure that the appropriate requirements of the Long Term Care Homes Act, all Healthcare standards, policies and procedures and other pertinent legislated standards and requirements within the nursing department.
2. Maintain the established systems of management reporting and internal control within the department as directed.
3. Train, supervise and assist in the evaluation of the performance of Registered Practical Nurses and non-registered nursing staff with guidance from the Director of Care.
4. Document and sign details of any personnel problems and submit to the Director of Care or her designate; initiate disciplinary action when necessary in accordance with home policy and procedure; reinstruct employees in acceptable behavior and /or performance.
5. Perform professional responsibilities and demonstrate conduct in accordance with the Standards of Practice established by the College of Nurses of Ontario; perform duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of the home.
6. Dispense medications and provide direct nursing care and treatments as instructed by the Director of Care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
7. Monitor the provision of resident care by all staff in the department in accordance with the physician's orders and the established plan of care; promptly correct deficiencies when identified, instruct personnel in correct procedures.
8. Adhere to established communications procedures with medical personnel and other healthcare specialists, managers and staff from other departments, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care officials, social workers, clergy, residents and their family members and coworkers to ensure continuity and quality nursing care.


Job Requirements:

1. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing OR a Diploma in Nursing, as well as a certificate of competence as a Regisgtered Nruse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, AND
2. Current CPR certification.
