Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

Electrical Designer - Intermediate/Senior

Job Responsibilities:

. Prepare layouts and conceptual designs for difficult and complex problems
. Prepare complex design drawings
. Interface with other design disciplines
. Become proficient in 2D and 3D CAD capabilities, as required
. Work independently with little or no supervision
. Check complex concrete and steel design drawings
. Perform squad check of vendor equipment drawings and other discipline drawings
. Review fabricator drawings
. Assist the Design Supervisor, as required
. Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-classification designers
. Communicate both verbally and in written form in a professional manner

Job Qualifications:

. Two-year technical diploma is preferred
. 5-10 years of experience working in an EPC/EPCM company
. Industrial Electrical design experience
. Mining/Petrochemical/Heavy industry experience required
. Proficient with Microstation or other 2D software
. 3D design (PDS) experience is an asset
. SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) experience is an asset
