· Maintains safety standards in all aspects of each project.

Job Qualifications:

· Graduate of engineering tech program.
· Five to ten years of experience in construction project management.
· Knowledge of construction design, finance, thorough knowledge of industry and company practices, processes and standards.
· Superior communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Computer literate in a Windows environment and ability to interpret computerized data is essential.

Job Descriptions:

Construction Engineers (CONST ENGRs) are commissioned members of the Air Force and members of the Military Engineers Branch of the Canadian Forces. They plan, develop and implement projects involving a wide range of military engineering tasks, including the following primary duties:
Ø Prepare or approve construction drawings, designs and cost estimates for static and deployed operations
Ø Advise superiors on military engineering matters
Ø Exercise leadership and technical control over organizations involved in engineering services
Ø Provide mapping, charting and geodesic support to sea, land and air operations

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental Engineering is preferred, however other degrees may be considered.

TRAINING
The first stage of training for a successful applicant is the Initial Assessment Period and Basic Officer Training Period (BOTP) at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

Second language training is available following BOTP course; depending on the second language proficiency of the candidate, it may take from two to nine months.

Upon successful completion of BOTP, in order to prepare for general employment in both airfield and construction engineering, CONST ENGRs attend the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Gagetown, New Brunswick. An air combat support operations environment is used to teach leadership and effective management of personnel, materials and time. This training is divided into the following three phases.

During the first phase of occupational training, CONST ENGRs build upon the leadership training of BOTP, in addition to more advanced basic military skills including weapons handling, communications, cross-country navigation, fieldcraft, and section level tactics.

The aim of the next phase is to introduce Construction Engineering operations, such as leading troops in the execution of basic engineering tasks. CONST ENGRs will also be introduced to preparing operating surfaces for air operations and planning the installation of facilities and structures to support these operations.

During the final phase, CONST ENGRs will have an opportunity to function in various Construction Engineering roles undertaking tasks in different settings and scenarios and further develop leadership skills. Additional training as a Construction Engineering Flight Commander will include managing realty assets at main operating bases, and planning and directing airfield infrastructure projects for deployed operations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
In a theatre of operations, regular duties will require sustained physical effort in austere living conditions and in extreme climates. CONST ENGRs must operate under conditions of fatigue, mental strain and physical discomfort over extended periods of time in order to carry out complicated tasks against exacting time schedules. Long periods of isolation are characteristic of survey and construction projects, particularly in the North and on foreign deployments.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVANCEMENT
Initially, a CONST ENGR is posted to a Construction Engineering Flight or to a Construction Engineering organization within the Air Force to reinforce training with practical experience. As they gain more experience and knowledge, they may be employed in a variety of staff positions in operational, personnel or technical fields, and may serve in an international headquarters, on a multinational staff or mission, or in an exchange or liaison capacity. CONST ENGRs may be posted to any Canadian Forces Base or headquarters where the Canadian Forces serve, including international operations in support of UN, NATO or Coalition missions.

Sound knowledge of the consulting and construction marketplace.
Strong facilitation skills and ability to analyze complex problems to produce results.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with a wide variety of contracts and project delivery systems.
Sound knowledge of contract law and experience working in risk management would be an asset.

Job Requirements:

- Knowledge of process piping design, including piping stress analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

The Exhibition Project Coordinator manages the gallery team, the schedule, deliverables and resources required to complete the project. Each Exhibition Project Coordinator will be responsible for a defined group of galleries associated with the permanent exhibition.

Direct project coordination responsibility for a defined set of galleries and the assigned teams to those galleries.
Manage gallery and team schedule.
Manage deliverables required to ensure timely completion of the exhibits in each of the galleries.
Coordinate all exhibition processes.
Coordinate and manage contractors associated with the assigned galleries such as designers, researchers, translators, fabricators, construction specialists, media & graphics production, etc.
Regularly review gallery budgets with the Project Manager Inaugural Opening.
Manage team resources to ensure timeline delivery of the exhibits in assigned galleries (e.g. bring in translation when required, or request additional research assistants as needed).
Mitigate risk and team conflict.
Ensure the Project Manager Inaugural Opening and the VP of Museum Practice have the correct budget and schedule information to make milestone decisions.
Initiate and maintain project documentation and reporting.
Manage all meetings, presentations, reports and approval processes.
Identify and manage variations and risks associated with the exhibition project for each assigned gallery.
Identify and report problems in the design, development, fabrication, and installation of the exhibits.
Identify potential solutions and assist in problem solving.
Ensure that common design elements are incorporated consistently across the galleries, as per the VP Museum Practice and RAA
Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Requirements for this position are as follows:

Skills and Knowledge - Required

Minimum 5 years of experience including experience in a similar role on an exhibition project
Minimum 5 years of experience with complicated, integrated media and technology projects such as film, websites, interactives and art works within a museum environment; or, equivalent education and experience.
Proven experience managing freelancers and suppliers such as designers, exhibition fit-up contractors, media and technology producers, A/V system integrators, etc.
Knowledge of construction and design management procedures such as method statements and risk assessments.
Experienced in managing project finances
Experienced in developing and managing overlapping project schedules
Skills and Knowledge - Desired

Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification
Ability to communicate in both official languages, oral and written
