Job Details
We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in slurry pumping, hoisting and/or crushing design, specifications, selection, and maintenance to support our Mining group. The candidate could be based out of our Saskatoon, Toronto or Vancouver locations.

·Directs all mechanical aspects of hoisting works including establishing system parameters, equipment sizing/layouts, specifications development/review, bid preparation/review, supplier interaction, field inspections/maintenance, and test work;
·Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives;
·Manages communications and interactions between client representatives, process team, engineering team, project managers, independent consultants and suppliers;
·Supervises large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers, or acts as a highly specialized technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients within the Mining sector.
·On occasions, gets involved in the tendering and the construction phase to provide support to the commissioning engineers during the start-up and the performance tests of the plants
·Gives occasional guidance to more junior engineers or other technical staff assigned to a common task

Job Requirements:

·University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada;
·A minimum of ten (10) years of related engineering experience within the Mining Industry and/or Consulting;
·Strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, FEA Analysis, Numerical Methods Solutions, etc.);
·In-depth knowledge of Gears, Bearings, Lubrication, and Brake Controls;
·Familiarity with Electrical Drives and Controls;
·An appreciation for the impact of other technical disciplines on overall system design;
·Strong communication skills, with experience in communicating with other design disciplines;
·The ability to lead large or small projects including documentation and tracking of project tasks and related design documents;
·General knowledge of Process Piping, Materials Handling, Mechanical Drives, Wrap Around Motors, Lubrication Systems, Underground/Surface Pumping, Backfill Systems, Foundations, and HVAC.
·Must be willing to occasionally travel to other Tetra Tech office locations and client sites/locations as required Demonstrate ability to be flexible, adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast paced environment
