Job Opening: Project Engineer

Hood Packaging, a leading North American manufacturer of flexible packaging, has an opening for a hands-on engineer at our Calgary Plastics Plant.
Working under the direction of the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects and addressing equipment performance issues. In this role, you will have exposure and hands-on experience with process improvement engineering, construction and project management.

Job Responsibilities:

·Projects for new equipment, upgrades to existing equipment including all phases from concept, justification, installation, start up and troubleshooting.
·Continuous improvement initiatives. Evaluation of work methods, processes and procedures to improve productivity, quality, safety, reduce waste, and generate cost savings.

Job Qualifications:

·Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, registered or eligible to be registered with APEGGA.
·2 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
·Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
·Proven ability to plan, organize and implement activities successfully and within a specified time frame.
·Excellent interpersonal skills, proven leadership capabilities and the ability to thrive in a well-oiled team environment.
·Project management experience would be a definite asset.
·Solid analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
·Competence with Autocad or Solid Works a definite asset.
·Six Sigma certification a definite asset.
