Job Opening: Junior Mine Engineer
Location: Vancouver, Bc, Canada
This mining company is Vancouver-based with one of their operations in central British Columbia. The planned production from 2009 includes 40 million lbs copper, 2,400 oz gold and 195,000 oz silver. Due to growth a new position for a Mine Engineer is required at their mine located in Central British Columbia.
The Mine Engineer must be multi-disciplined. The primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to; Short and Long Range Mine planning, drilling and blasting design, ore control, production records, supervising Technicians and a Junior Mine Engineer, dewatering, expansion of current mining operations and mine design using the Gemcom or Whittle software programs. This position will report directly to the Chief Engineer.
Applicants for this role must have a degree in Mining Engineering with a P.Eng. designation or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer in the future and a minimum of 5 years experience in the mining industry. You will possess leadership to ensure a safe work environment, work well in teams and have excellent communication skills. Candidates who meet the above qualifications and who possess Open Pit experience with base metals will be preferred.
The work schedule is 4 days on followed by 3 days off. Transportation to and from the mine site is provided by the client from a designated location(s) in Central BC.
