Job Opening: Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Vancouver, Bc, Canada
The Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer position is a full time role located in our Burnaby (Vancouver) BC operations in the Infrastructure & Environment Division.
Job Responsibilities:
• Plan and oversee geotechnical site investigations (including site reconnaissance, drilling and coring) and analysis;
• Provide geotechnical engineering recommendations regarding (but not limited to) soil and rock engineering parameters, deep and shallow foundations, soil liquefaction assessments, seismic analysis, frost issues, soil dynamic parameters and site development;
• Direction/Supervision of junior staff to meet project deliverables;
• Report and proposal writing;
• Assistance with Business Development;
• Tender package preparation;
• Site inspection/supervision; and
• Construction QA/QC inspections.
Job Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• A strong theoretical background in geotechnical engineering and field experience; and,
• Proficiency with common geotechnical software (e.g. GeoStudio?, Plaxis? and gINT®).
In addition to the above:
• Experience in mining and mine infrastructure would be considered an asset;
• Northern and permafrost engineering skills and experience would be considered an asset; and,
• A post-graduate degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering would be considered an asset.
