We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer working within our Electrical Engineering Department reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Chief Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer is accountable for developing and maintaining specific expertise in the disciplines of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineering to support Chemetics technologies

Job Responsibilities:

Supervising instrument, control and electrical discipline personnel.
Making recommendation concerning selection of new staff and promoting the development and training of staff.
Defining scope of activities and assign workloads.
Completing and conducting performance evaluations
Leading and motivating
Providing necessary resources for project works
Attending Discipline Manager's meetings
Functioning as an electrical engineer
Reviewing and evaluating technical works in electrical, instrument and control group
Resolving instrument, control & electrical discipline technical issues
Reviewing and implementing new standards/procedures and systems to improve group productivity
Ensuring standard specifications/procedures and systems are used by disciplines.


Job Requirements:


Degree in Electrical Engineering (P.Eng an asset)
10+ years of experience in the chemical or heavy industry, preferably in Acid plant technology
Previous experience in a supervisory or manager role


Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·The Chief Electrical Engineer must have broad technical experience in Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation engineering in order to effectively understand and direct the activities of the department
·Must be able to direct his or her manpower resources to effectively execute company's technologies
·Good interpersonal skills
·Superior communication skills, both oral and written, are definitely required
·Excellent negotiation skills
·Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook, and experience working with an enterprise resource system, preferably SAP
·Excellent organizational skills
·Ability to work to time constraints and meet tight deadlines
·Ability to work with limited supervision
·Ability to work well in cross-functional team environment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


This position may also require travel to international sites from time to time so individual must be able to travel freely without any restrictions as it relates to criminal records, or eligibility to enter into foreign countries.
